This classically shaped dressing table had been well loved over the years. To bring her back to life we decided to take advantage of the texture underneath and used our Industrial Look technique to give it a modern twist.
With Old Denim blue as our base and a Carbon Black coloured wax, we have finished the handles with a touch of champagne gold gilding wax to doften the finish and tie the colour back to the beautiful shape of the legs.
Technique:
Painted all over in Old Denim chalk paint using our round brush. We painted two full coats with subtle texture.
Once dry, we applied a Carbon Black coloured wax in a 1:1 ratio of chalk paint to wax. We applied it with our natural bristle brush, wiping the excess off with a lint-free rag.
We then used super fine steel wool to blend and create some highlights across the front of the drawers.
To finish we applied a touch of Vienna Champagne glide to the painted and black waxed handles. We applied with our fingers to highlight the details.
