This is a wonderfully classic finish using warm neutrals.

For this paint recipe, we walk you through how to create a soft and subtle textured finish.

This technique works well with the soft colours. We've used Burmese but Kirimi, Tahr, Mali, Potters Clay and Moa would all work well too.

What you will need:

1 - Paint in Burmese chalk paint using the round synthetic brush. Paint in large crosses to create subtle texture. Do two coats to achieve full coverage.

2 - Make a coloured wax using Beluga chalk paint and Clear wax, using a 1:1 ratio. Brush on with a natural bristle brush and wipe off excess with a rag.

3 - Use Dark Wax to create low lights in carved details, around handles, on the feet, etc.

4 - Optional: Detail the edges with Gold gilding wax, using either a finger or a detail brush.
